20/02/2012 - Rick on the Radio

Late friday afternoon Rick was called by BBC Radio Sussex asking he would go on the radio to talk about the FA Cup and Church football. As he did not hear back later that afternoon he that was that.

However bright and early around 8am Rick got another call asking if he could go on just before 9am.

The link below is the result of that fatefull interview.

Forward to 2 hours 54 minutes and 20 seconds to find the interview.

PS Just to set the record straight Rick is not a Brighton fan (the researcher was deaf). He is a Spurs fan!

11/02/2012 - Carmela Resturant is booked for the Seniors end of season celebration!

We are pleased to confirm that Carmela Resturant in 3 Denne Road, Horsham, RH12 1JE is the venue for this seasons Seniors End of Season Dinner and Presentation Evening on Saturday 28th April.

We have the the upstairs area exclusively for the evening from 8pm, this can hold around 34 guests.

Senior players, Committee members, coaches, wives, girl-friends, Managers and Supporters of the Club are most welcome.

The Restaurant specialises obviously in Italian foods and I can confirm the smell is fantastic as you walk in!

The whole menu is open to us but we must pre-book any starters and main courses. This can be done by going on to Carmela website menu and send your order to Rick on www.brantsrus@gmail.com

As the numbers are restricted this will be done on a first come first basis.

We also have a guest speaker this in Chris Roe who is the Chaplin at Crystal Palace FC.

Lastly all the trophies will be presented at the end of the evening.

I understand from Francesco our host that we can stay as long as we like! Could be a long night!!

22/01/2012 - Frederico goes home!

Frederico Demarchi our Argentian import from Buenos Aires returned home after his months stay in Horsham.

Freddie works for Royal & Sun Alliance and spent his time at their Head Office in Horsham.

Freddie played mostly for the Reserves and was well thought of playing the centre of midfield. Some of you may remember the 'hassle' both Freddie and the Club had getting him International clearance to play. Amazing red tape!

I should add that Freedie would be very welcome back anytime.

Freddie returned home just before Christmas but here is a recent email that he sent to the Club.

Hi all,

I should had written this email before but the last days of 2011 were quite hectic. After some days off visiting my family in South Florida for Xmas and New Year I'm back to work in the Buenos Aires office of RSA.
I wanted to thank you all for letting me be part of a such wonderful group during one year of my life which I'll certainly never forget.
I miss trainings (I can proudly say that I missed just a couple of them and with valid reasons) and saturday games, and though it might sound weird I also miss the weather (the 40°ish "feels like" temperature every single day of the warm South American summer is not for me anymore).

I wish you all the best for this 2012. Please extend my regards to the rest of the team.

15/01/2012 - New training venue for Seniors

The adults teams will be using Christs Hospital Asto pitch from 7th February through to the end of March when the clocks change and once again we will revert to Bennetts Field thereafter.

This will be a trial 2 months for the seniors to see if it meets our needs primarily for the numbers that we regurlarly get at training these days.

The pitch is booked from 8-9pm however we will meet before hand. Time TBC.

The cost is a significant one to the Club and this is reflective in the training fee being £2 while we are at C.H. It will continue at £1 while at Tanbridge.

Three of the junior teams already use the facility and it is hoped that the adults will also benefit from these excellent facilities.
